In the 8th minute, Cido Melo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arí Pernambucano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Vágner Botelho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eriberto Cabral firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 18thth minute of the game Marco Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Celtic FC's Eriberto Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Patrick Arantes charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Arantes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Celtic FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Patrick Arantes hit a great ball. When Flor's Marco Castro in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Celtic FC's goalie prevented a goal. Arí Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cido Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Melo in the 29th minute of play forced Flor's goalkeeper Arí Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 played minutes Celtic FC got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Nascimento. Arí Pernambucano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Sarmento in the 34th minute of play. When Marco Castro came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Flor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Castro couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Cido Melo put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Arí Pernambucano. Cido Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arí Pernambucano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Arí Pernambucano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cido Melo went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cido Melo was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Flor's zone, Cido Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arí Pernambucano came out of the goal and Cido Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Cabral having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic FC's zone, Vágner Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Cabral came out of the goal and Vágner Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eriberto Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Cido Melo might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arí Pernambucano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cido Melo ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulão Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Arí Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Celtic FC. Cido Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vágner Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 minutes of play, Flor's Marco Castro made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eriberto Cabral was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute Cido Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arí Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
