João Augusto Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Túlio Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Aruata SC's zone, Magno Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kléber Barreto came out of the goal and Magno Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the game, Betinho Lira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Riachao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aruata SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Riachao's Betinho Lira got a free kick in the 21st minute. João Augusto Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Cavalcante having to interfere. If João Augusto Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Riachao fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! 30 minutes into the match, Magno Saraiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kléber Barreto. Aruata SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Magno Saraiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Arthur Carioca came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Aruata SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Carioca couldn't finish the play. After 39 minutes of play, Aruata SC's Arthur Carioca made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Túlio Cavalcante was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Júlio Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riachao's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléber Barreto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arthur Carioca to strike the kick off in the second half. André Luiz Meira charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed André Luiz Meira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Riachao's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Arthur Carioca scored to the left of an out of position Túlio Cavalcante, making the score, 2-2. 65 minutes into the match, Júlio Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kléber Barreto. Aruata SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júlio Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 71st minute, Aruata SC's João Augusto Mineiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Túlio Cavalcante. Túlio Cavalcante yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. João Augusto Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Cavalcante having to interfere. Túlio Cavalcante didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Aruata SC's Arthur Carioca shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-4 in the ordered_time% minute. Kléber Barreto came out of the goal and Jacinto Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
