The audience was convinced that Arthur da Mata's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Matorin was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Pagode EC's goal looked a bit too open when Willian Neiva came free, but José Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pagode EC's Rafael Barbosa got a free kick in the 17th minute. Willian Neiva charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willian Neiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Willian Neiva hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Arthur da Mata charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 21st minute, Arthur da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes in the game, Rafael Barbosa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sabino Corrêa having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Rafael Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sabino Corrêa. Salobre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Salobre fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! The supporters of Salobre booed when Pagode EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willian Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Leopoldo de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Pagode EC's zone, Genílson Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Matorin came out of the goal and Genílson Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 42 played minutes Pagode EC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Eduardo Mumbach. The Salobre fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when Salobre's Willian Neiva looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leopoldo de Almeida stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Genílson Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 55 minutes of play Salobre's Arthur da Mata was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 56 played minutes Salobre got a freekick which was hit by Arthur da Mata. After a defensive mix-up in Pagode EC's zone, Genílson Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Matorin came out of the goal and Genílson Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 60 minutes into the game, Pagode EC's Leopoldo de Almeida nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sabino Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. If Genílson Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Willian Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Salobre's Willian Neiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Matorin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leopoldo de Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Sabino Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sabino Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo de Almeida in the 78th minute of play. After 81 minutes of play, Pagode EC's Rafael Barbosa made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sabino Corrêa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 87thth minute of the game Rafael Barbosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salobre's Sabino Corrêa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. José Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After 92 played minutes Salobre got a freekick which was hit by Willian Neiva. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pagode EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Salobre had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
