Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Galos's Fernandinho Cavalcante started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Caetano Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 6 played minutes Ione AD got a freekick which was hit by Adhemar Cardozo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Cavalcante in the 9th minute of play forced Ione AD's goalkeeper Caetano de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adhemar Cardozo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After 25 minutes, Adhemar Cardozo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ione AD and the Galos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adhemar Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Rony Alagoano was extremely unlucky when he, in the 29th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Rony Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernandinho Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Caetano de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th match minute, Ione AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betinho Capixaba to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 43 minutes, Caetano Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caetano Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fernandinho Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Ione AD's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Branco came free, but Caetano de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henrique Tepedino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rony Alagoano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roger Carioca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Ione AD's Rony Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ione AD were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Galos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chiquinho Azevedo took the corner. The corner led Ione AD's Chiquinho Azevedo to fire away a dangerous shot which Roger Carioca despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Roger Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ione AD booed when Galos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 played minutes, Ione AD's Chiquinho Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roger Carioca came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ione AD reached it. After having played for 66 minutes, João Adolfo Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ione AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Adolfo Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Ione AD's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandinho Cavalcante came free, but Caetano de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Fernandinho Cavalcante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernandinho Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Galos's goalkeeper Roger Carioca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ione AD's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Fernandinho Cavalcante 83 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Caetano Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galos's supporters rose to their feet, but Caetano Branco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caetano de Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chiquinho Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, Galos's Fernandinho Cavalcante sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caetano de Andrade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Ione AD supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Galos's performance. The match ended with a win for Galos.
