A collision led to Maristela AD getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Chicão Mumbach hit a great ball. Dedê Pombal's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Leopoldo Sanches skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wanderson Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Dracena in the 15th minute of the match. In the 20thth minute of the game Décio Cordeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maristela AD's Wanderson Perez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Décio Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wanderson Perez having to interfere. When Cacá Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Maristela AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cacá Quadros couldn't finish the play. Dedê Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes Maristela AD got a freekick which was hit by Célio Alves. After some careless play in the Maristela AD defense, Décio Cordeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wanderson Perez. The Maristela AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wanderson Perez should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Décio Cordeiro to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Armando Dracena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sagatyba Atlético Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Cacá Quadros took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leopoldo Sanches. Leopoldo Sanches dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. In the 67th minute, Sagatyba Atlético Clube's Décio Cordeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wanderson Perez. Wanderson Perez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. Wanderson Perez made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Kléberson Sabóia sent off a good shot on target. Décio Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armando Dracena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wanderson Perez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Sagatyba Atlético Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Maristela AD.
