Claudinho Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esperança FC. In the 14th minute, Orlando Vale fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 15th minute of the game, Artur Prado landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 15 minutes into the game, Geraldo Soares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Amaniutuba SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esperança FC the free kick. In the 16th minute, Geraldo Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jairo Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Anderson de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Esperança FC booed when Amaniutuba SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Otávio Favoretto came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Esperança FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otávio Favoretto couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Amaniutuba SS's zone, Luiz Eduardo Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinho Alves came out of the goal and Luiz Eduardo Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinho Alves made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Otávio Favoretto sent off a good shot on target. William Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Alves having to interfere. Claudinho Alves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otávio Favoretto in the 34th minute. After having played for 37 minutes, William Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esperança FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Esperança FC's Jairo Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson de Andrade in the 40th minute of play. After 44 minutes of play, Esperança FC's Otávio Favoretto made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinho Alves was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cássio Braga to make the kick off. Otávio Favoretto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 55 minutes of play, Esperança FC's William Brito made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinho Alves was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 59th minute, Cristian Nóbrega sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Amaniutuba SS's Claudinho Alves didn't even have to move. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Orlando Vale during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Claudinho Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otávio Favoretto scored 3-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudinho Alves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Amaniutuba SS's Cauã Cunha got a free kick in the 74th minute. Anderson de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Amaniutuba SS's Cássio Braga got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Otávio Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Esperança FC's goalkeeper Jairo Antunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anderson de Andrade. Anderson de Andrade who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Jairo Antunes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Cássio Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Esperança FC had played much better football throughout.
