Thanks to some nice moves Jonathan Dantas could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Aílton Koehler however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Ipaussu's Aílton Koehler got control of the ball when Jonathan Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itaimbe's goalkeeper Léo Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 21st match minute, Itaimbe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Peres to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the game, Ipaussu's Felippe Terra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Léo Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jonathan Dantas's late challenge caught a Ipaussu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ipaussu booed when Itaimbe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Itaimbe's Jorge Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 29th minute. Léo Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felippe Terra in the 32nd minute of the match. Léo Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Terra in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Itaimbe getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Nelson Silva hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Itaimbe defense, Felippe Terra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Léo Santos. The Itaimbe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Léo Santos should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felippe Terra was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Felippe Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipaussu's supporters rose to their feet, but Felippe Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Ipaussu booed when Itaimbe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo da Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo da Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Itaimbe's Gustavo da Costa got a free kick in the 55th minute. William Novaes, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Ipaussu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felippe Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66thth minute of the game Felippe Terra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaimbe's Léo Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Ipaussu's Percival Melo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Léo Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Léo Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Percival Melo in the 76th minute. If Felippe Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Léo Santos made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Percival Melo sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th match minute, Itaimbe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Felippe Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Percival Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Santos having to interfere. The Itaimbe fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ipaussu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
