Dráusio Gomes took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cássio Vinhas. Cássio Vinhas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Piraju FC's zone, Dino Dante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim das Neves came out of the goal and Dino Dante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim das Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dino Dante's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Dino Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim das Neves having to interfere. Frederico Toscano's late challenge caught a Nauari's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederico Toscano helped the player get up and apologised. Nauari were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Piraju FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Duda Ramalho took the corner. Piraju FC's Joaquim das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Cruz in the 27th minute of play. When Eduardo Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Piraju FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Cunha couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Nauari's Aírton Zonta got a free kick in the 35th minute. Piraju FC were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Nauari's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tales Leite took the corner. Eduardo Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Cássio Vinhas made a huge save.

Ronaldo de Queiroz's late challenge caught a Nauari's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 60 minutes, Ricardinho Carioca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piraju FC and the Nauari players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Piraju FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ricardinho Carioca hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Dino Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim das Neves was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 69th minute, Dráusio Gomes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piraju FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Joaquim das Neves made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Romário Cruz sent off a good shot on target. After 73 minutes of play Piraju FC's Ricardinho Carioca was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 74 played minutes Piraju FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Carioca. Piraju FC's Joaquim das Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Piraju FC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Piraju FC's Dráusio Gomes got a free kick in the 78th minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Dino Dante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nauari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Dante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Piraju FC defense, Romário Cruz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquim das Neves. The Piraju FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquim das Neves should have stopped the shot. Dino Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim das Neves having to interfere. Joaquim das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. If Zé Paulo Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eduardo Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Vinhas having to interfere. Cássio Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. With a little luck, Piraju FC's Joaquim das Neves got control of the ball when Romário Cruz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Piraju FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
