Nantes's Rubens Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Amorim in the 5th minute of play. Marco Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Pombal having to interfere. Fiori Cardozo charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fiori Cardozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fiori Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Marco Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Pombal having to interfere. Capatara's Edu Cerezo got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Marco Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Edu Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Capatara's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Faustino came free, but Manuel Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Rubens Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Edu Cerezo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubens Pombal. Nantes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edu Cerezo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristóvão Passos to strike the kick off in the second half. Edu Cerezo struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Rubens Pombal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capatara. Edu Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nantes's Rubens Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Amorim in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Edu Cerezo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Capatara's Edu Cerezo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubens Pombal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 77th minute, Luís Gustavo Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Pombal having to interfere. Rubens Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Marco Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens Pombal was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Marco Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Rubens Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Capatara's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
