Bebeto Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Sidney Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. With a little luck, Lions FC's Sidney Passos got control of the ball when Bebeto Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Abunai SC's Amauri Bittencourt in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lions FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute, Amauri Bittencourt fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sidney Passos, passed just outside the right post. Amauri Bittencourt was extremely unlucky when he, in the 22nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Bebeto Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Cesinha Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Abunai SC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Chicão Antunes hit a great ball. Hílton Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Pimenta having to interfere. Renato Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hílton Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Sidney Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amauri Bittencourt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bebeto Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amauri Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Passos having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Renato Pimenta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hílton Leal's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Caco Queiroz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Renato Pimenta when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Hílton Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Pimenta having to interfere. Bebeto Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 74 minutes, Caco Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lions FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caco Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amauri Bittencourt in the 87th minute of play forced Lions FC's goalkeeper Sidney Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Amauri Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amauri Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Sidney Passos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abunai SC. Abunai SC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lions FC for a fine match.
