César Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Claudinho Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Catarinense having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 61st minute Allan Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dito Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Bicudo getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano Galvão hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Eger in the 65th minute of play forced CRUZ AZUL F.C's goalkeeper César Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinho Travassos got free with César Catarinense in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. César Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudinho Travassos went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. With his leg César Catarinense managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Bicudo's Claudinho Travassos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ronaldinho Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. César Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dito Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Claudinho Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bicudo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinho Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. CRUZ AZUL F.C's César Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save CRUZ AZUL F.C from getting a goal against them. Claudinho Travassos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, César Catarinense skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to CRUZ AZUL F.C getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Giuseppe da Silveira hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in CRUZ AZUL F.C's zone, Ronaldinho Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Catarinense came out of the goal and Ronaldinho Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bicudo's Dito Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Mattos in the 96th minute of play.
