Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) CRUZ AZUL F.C's Allan Cardozo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jean Aparecido hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Allan Cardozo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Hugues Baroni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dino Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 14 minutes, Dino Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventus F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute Allan Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugues Baroni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugues Baroni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Bertassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Hugues Baroni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Mattos in the 21st minute of play. If Dino Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the game, Horácio Paiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. César Catarinense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Allan Cardozo took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugues Baroni. Hugues Baroni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in CRUZ AZUL F.C's zone, Angelo Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Catarinense came out of the goal and Angelo Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horácio Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. César Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Doriva Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Dino Negri made the kick off in the second half. Allan Cardozo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugues Baroni having to make a save. Hugues Baroni made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Enio Mattos sent off a good shot on target. Arnaldo Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Allan Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugues Baroni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelo Chaves struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. César Catarinense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventus F.C. If Angelo Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Armando Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dino Negri came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Juventus F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Negri couldn't finish the play. Juventus F.C's Horácio Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dino Negri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but César Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. CRUZ AZUL F.C's César Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Chaves in the 86th minute of play. Dino Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Catarinense having to interfere.
