The referee ignored Candeiras AD's protests and gave Moisés de Barros a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Candeiras AD getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Moisés de Barros hit a great ball. With his leg Mazinho Vieira managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Cameleoes AD's Cristiano Valladares fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Agostinho Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Cristiano Valladares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cameleoes AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 31 played minutes Candeiras AD got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Monteiro. In the 36th minute, Agostinho Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Candeiras AD booed when Cameleoes AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorginho Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Horácio Gonçalves sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cameleoes AD's Anderson Paiva didn't even have to move. Anderson Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Rocha in the 45th minute of the match. Jorginho Ramalho hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 56th minute, Cristiano Valladares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Moisés de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candeiras AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Moisés de Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anderson Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chico Brasils short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Anderson Paiva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Candeiras AD's zone, Ivo Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Vieira came out of the goal and Ivo Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrício Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Cameleoes AD's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Rocha came free, but Anderson Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chico Brasil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Anderson Paiva made a huge save. In the 79th minute, Claudinei Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Cameleoes AD's zone, Horácio Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anderson Paiva came out of the goal and Horácio Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd minute Ivo Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agostinho Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agostinho Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anderson Paiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agostinho Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head.
