A collision led to InSanos getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Raí Gerber hit a great ball. Cícero Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Valadares having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Eriberto Pereira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Chiquinho Leal, passed just outside the right post. Chiquinho Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino do Vale in the 15th minute of play forced InSanos's goalkeeper Hermínio Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Garatuba's goalkeeper Chiquinho Leal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Zonta. In the 37thth minute of the game Armindo Quaresma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garatuba's Chiquinho Leal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Conrado Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chiquinho Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Armindo Quaresma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garatuba's Chiquinho Leal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Armindo Quaresma to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, InSanos's Armindo Quaresma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chiquinho Leal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 53rd minute, Garatuba's Sabino Araújo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sabino Araújo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Garatuba protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sabino Araújo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Armindo Quaresma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Chiquinho Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eriberto Pereira scored 3-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chiquinho Leal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute, Sidnei Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
