Josefina's Glauco Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Hoffmann in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Luizinho Hoffmann notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Josefina's Glauco Ferreira. Glauco Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Coutinho in the 13th minute of play forced Josefina's goalkeeper Glauco Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Virgílio Paes to make the kick off. When Deivid Reis fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Josefina's protests and gave Deivid Reis a yellow card for diving instead. Deivid Reis hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. João Pedro França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marquinhos Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Quixara SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
