Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gustavo Hermes took the kick off in the first half of the match. Fernando Senna hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 4th minute, Sandro Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Firminopolis EC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Hames came free, but Frank Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacinto Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Velloso having to interfere. When Vladimir Vasconcelos fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Firminopolis EC's protests and gave Vladimir Vasconcelos a yellow card for diving instead. Vladimir Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 17 minutes of play, Firminopolis EC's Gustavo Hermes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilberto Velloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jacinto Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Velloso having to interfere. If Gustavo Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Leme in the 24th minute of play forced Corimbota's goalkeeper Gilberto Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilberto Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Jacinto Leme might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Leme ran back to his position shaking his head. If Luizinho Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Velloso having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After a defensive mix-up in Firminopolis EC's zone, Sandro Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Coutinho came out of the goal and Sandro Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilberto Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Hermes in the 58th minute of play. Jacinto Leme succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 60th playminute. In the 64th minute Gustavo Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Claudinei de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corimbota's protests and gave Claudinei de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Corimbota was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Jacinto Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Velloso having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Conrado Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 73 minutes, Luizinho Hames managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corimbota's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizinho Hames was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Hames in the 73rd minute of play. Luizinho Hames scored 1-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frank Coutinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82nd minute, Fernando Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sidnei Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Corimbota's zone, Jacinto Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Velloso came out of the goal and Jacinto Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Firminopolis EC booed when Corimbota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Gilberto Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Firminopolis EC played a much better game than Corimbota and deserved their victory. The Corimbota players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
