A hard shot by Ernani Arantes from long distance, 4 minutes into the match, got Ricardinho Arruda's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ernesto Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ricardinho Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Gonçalves having to interfere. Vítor Netto struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Zé Augusto Gonçalves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galuado. A collision led to Piacaba getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Andrézinho Rocha hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Cristiano Ortiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Vítor Netto made a precise shot to the right of Zé Augusto Gonçalves. Piacaba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 28th minute, Vítor Netto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Piacaba's Zé Augusto Gonçalves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Piacaba from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Piacaba's Cristiano Ortiz got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Galuado's Vítor Netto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Augusto Gonçalves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ernesto Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Frank Vides came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Piacaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Vides couldn't finish the play. Frank Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Ricardinho Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Vides's late challenge caught a Galuado's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a little luck, Piacaba's Zé Augusto Gonçalves got control of the ball when Vítor Netto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vítor Netto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Augusto Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Bezerra in the 86th minute of play. Vítor Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Gonçalves having to interfere. Zé Augusto Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vito Bezerra in the 94th minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
