João Vítor Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Zézinho Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zacarias Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisão Sabóia's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 25th minute, Lenílson de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Lona EC's Jarbas Trancoso broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Zacarias Valle acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 28th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luís Eduardo Cosme. Luís Gustavo Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Zacarias Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisão Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beiju EC's Zacarias Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Beiju EC from getting a goal against them. When Inácio Souza came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Lona EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Souza couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Jean Ceresso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zézinho Baiano having to make a save. In the 65th minute João Vítor Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Baiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agenor Arce charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agenor Arce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Agenor Arce hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Beiju EC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Lona EC had won, even though Beiju EC had held more of the ball.
