Ruy Vinhas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tostão Cunha's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Ruy Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Zilles, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Ruy Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Zilles in the 15th minute of play. Ernesto Hoffmann hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Dino Zilles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Vinhas having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Tostão Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruy Vinhas. Morrinhos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tostão Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Dino Zilles came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Canoeiros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Zilles couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the game, Canoeiros's Dino Zilles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruy Vinhas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 31st minute Benjamin Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Morrinhos's Benjamin Vaz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronaldo Barral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Cunha in the 36th minute of play forced Morrinhos's goalkeeper Ruy Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tostão Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ruy Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Morrinhos booed when Canoeiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Canoeiros were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the match, Morrinhos's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Zilles came free, but Ruy Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Vides got free with Ruy Vinhas in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Betão de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tostão Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Ruy Vinhas made a huge save. Ernesto Hoffmann kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Gláuber Borges sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Morrinhos's Ruy Vinhas didn't even have to move. A collision led to Canoeiros getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Gilmar Reis hit a great ball. Tostão Cunha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Ruy Vinhas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Zilles in the 74th minute of play forced Morrinhos's goalkeeper Ruy Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Morrinhos's Ruy Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Zilles in the 81st minute of play. Dino Zilles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Ruy Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th match minute, Canoeiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Mello to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldo Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Vaz in the 89th minute of play. After 92 played minutes Canoeiros got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Reis. Ruy Vinhas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tostão Cunha in the 94th minute. If Dino Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
