Tostão Paraense hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Grêmio Fc's goalkeeper Tomás Diniz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomás Ceresso. Zézinho Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho da Silveira in the 30th minute of the match. With his leg Tomás Diniz managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Jabaete SS's Giovani do Valle fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Fc's Luiz Fernando Loureiro got a free kick in the 34th minute. Luiz Fernando Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Silveira having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Luiz Fernando Loureiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zézinho Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Loureiro in the 42nd minute of play. Giovani do Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Fernando Loureiro was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jabaete SS's goalkeeper Zézinho Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Renatinho da Silveira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 62nd playminute. An unexpected shot in the 70th minute by Renatinho da Silveira got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Adhemar Linhares's late challenge caught a Jabaete SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adhemar Linhares helped the player get up and apologised. When Thomás Ceresso came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Jabaete SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomás Ceresso couldn't finish the play. Tomás Diniz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elano Senna went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Zézinho Silveira made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Renatinho da Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Renatinho da Silveiras short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Zézinho Silveira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 90 played minutes Jabaete SS got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Rocha. Zézinho Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renatinho da Silveira in the 91st minute. Grêmio Fc's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
