The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mateus Abraão to strike the kick off in the second half. Enio Pinheiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maurinho Moraes in the 52nd minute. Roger Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Zanette in the 57th minute of play. Laércio Arantes hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After 59 played minutes, Tavares FC's Kléber Mazza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roger Gerber came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tavares FC reached it. Juan Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Pinheiro having to interfere.
