When Dário Sena came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the barçasao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dário Sena couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Enéas Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Paulista's supporters rose to their feet, but Enéas Moreno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renatinho Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandro Tepedino's late challenge caught a Vila Paulista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Tepedino helped the player get up and apologised. Sandro Tepedino hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Gilson Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cesinha Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 24 minutes, Benjamin Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamin Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjamin Leal in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renatinho Barral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Vila Paulista's Tião Abreu got control of the ball when Dário Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Renatinho Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovânio Santana in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, barçasao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Augusto Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. Tião Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The goalkeeper, Tião Abreu, was totally fooled by barçasao's Nuno da Costa, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. João Augusto Pernambucano hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benjamin Leal to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Vila Paulista getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Cesinha Sarmento hit a great ball. Gilson Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tião Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Dantas in the 60th minute of play forced Vila Paulista's goalkeeper Tião Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Cunha in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 85th minute of the match João Augusto Pernambucano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tião Abreu skillfully saved the ball. Tião Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Dantas in the 86th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in barçasao's zone, Geovânio Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renatinho Barral came out of the goal and Geovânio Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eusébio Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. barçasao were victorious despite being under pressure from Vila Paulista for much of the match.
