In the 21st match minute, Vila Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Tião Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Américo Teles in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 39th minute Américo Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tião Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Teles in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Maracai defense, Enéas Moreno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ian Fontes. The Maracai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ian Fontes should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

53 minutes into the match, Danilo Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ian Fontes. Maracai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danilo Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Vila Paulista's Tião Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Vander in the 60th minute of play. After 61 minutes of play, Vila Paulista's Enéas Moreno made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ian Fontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ian Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Leal in the 65th minute of the match. Tião Abreu made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Américo Teles sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Vila Paulista's Pedro Luiz Carvalho got a free kick in the 67th minute. The supporters of Vila Paulista booed when Maracai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ian Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enéas Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88thth minute of the game Benjamin Leal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maracai's Ian Fontes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Cláudio Meirelles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maracai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vila Paulista the free kick. Vila Paulista's Tião Abreu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Vila Paulista from getting a goal against them.
