Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Toropi SS's Zézinho Montenegro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moisés Pinheiro during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tarame's Moisés Pinheiro got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Luís Eduardo Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonsinho Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Dinei Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fábio Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zézinho Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tarame's Fábio Alvarenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Tarame from getting a goal against them. Zézinho Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Alvarenga having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Eduardo Saraiva during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Zézinho Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toropi SS's Valdemar Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Toropi SS booed when Tarame was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Eduardo Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bebeto Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Zézinho Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Alvarenga having to interfere. A collision led to Tarame getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Edson Vasconcelos hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonsinho Eger to make the kick off. Fábio Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Mazza in the 53rd minute of the match. Zézinho Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes in the game, Afonsinho Eger fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dinei Goiano having to interfere. Zézinho Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Fábio Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valdemar Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonsinho Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Goiano having to interfere. The supporters of Tarame booed when Toropi SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernão Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Ramiro da Cunha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toropi SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tarame the free kick. Ramiro da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Zézinho Montenegro notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Tarame's Fábio Alvarenga. Fábio Alvarenga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zézinho Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fábio Alvarenga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, Tarame was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Vander to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Toropi SS's Bebeto Diniz in action when he in the 94th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Luís Eduardo Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toropi SS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
