Paulão Prestes's late challenge caught a Barraco SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernani Vianna scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Célio Hames, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Giovani Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Barraco SC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Giovani Madureira hit a great ball. Ernani Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Célio Hames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernani Vianna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Giovani Madureira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Célio Hames made a huge save. Giovani Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Alvellos FC's Célio Hames got control of the ball when Giovani Madureira tried to sneak it across the goal line. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Célio Hames. Célio Hames showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Paulão Prestes hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Barraco SC's Carlos Alberto Trigo tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ernani Vianna might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Célio Hames. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernani Vianna ran back to his position shaking his head. Célio Hames acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 87th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cléber de Andrade. Ernani Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
