Manoel Nascimento didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Itapiru's Gernando Leal shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 14th minute, Luís Paulo Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Clemente Koehler came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Brasilandia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Koehler couldn't finish the play. Cido Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Pena in the 19th minute of play. Clemente Koehler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Cido Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 35 minutes, Gernando Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapiru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernando Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brasilandia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gernando Leal 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. In the 44th minute Gernando Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manoel Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Itapiru's goal looked a bit too open when Percy Pena came free, but Cido Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Percy Pena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cido Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Pena in the 56th minute of play. In the 57thth minute of the game Percy Pena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapiru's Cido Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cido Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percy Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Brasilandia's Manoel Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Paulo Arruda in the 61st minute of play. When Décio Brito came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Itapiru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Décio Brito couldn't finish the play. Manoel Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Manoel Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Leal in the 66th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Gernando Leal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manoel Nascimento. Brasilandia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gernando Leal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuel Maciel during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Brasilandia. Duda da Fonseca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cido Santos. 3-1. Brasilandia's Percy Pena got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cido Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Pena in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Clemente Koehler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gernando Leal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manoel Nascimento having to make a save. Clemente Koehler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cido Santos having to interfere. Luís Paulo Arruda might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manoel Nascimento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Paulo Arruda ran back to his position shaking his head. Brasilandia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
