The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Evaristo Paulista took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juvenal Matos. Juvenal Matos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 8th minute, Evaristo Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juvenal Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After having played for 16 minutes, Evaristo Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pork´s Avanti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Pork´s Avanti getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. André Luís Abraão hit a great ball. Gil Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válter Mattos having to interfere. If Gilberto Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Paulista in the 27th minute of play forced Furacão F.V.C's goalkeeper Juvenal Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Furacão F.V.C were awarded a corner. João Vítor Negri went to the cornerflag to take it. Válter Mattos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Xavier's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Pork´s Avanti's Evaristo Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Frédson Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Pork´s Avanti getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Frédson Figueiredo hit a great ball. Giuseppe Pinho's late challenge caught a Pork´s Avanti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giuseppe Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pork´s Avanti booed when Furacão F.V.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes Furacão F.V.C got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo das Neves. Valdomiro Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Juvenal Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdomiro Goiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juvenal Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro Goiano in the 52nd minute of play. Evaristo Paulista took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juvenal Matos. Juvenal Matos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdomiro Goiano in the 67th minute of play forced Furacão F.V.C's goalkeeper Juvenal Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Furacão F.V.C's goalkeeper Juvenal Matos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilberto Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gilberto Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válter Mattos having to interfere. After some careless play in the Furacão F.V.C defense, Valdomiro Goiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juvenal Matos. The Furacão F.V.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juvenal Matos should have stopped the shot. Valdomiro Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pork´s Avanti's Evaristo Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Rodrigo das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Pork´s Avanti supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pork´s Avanti would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
