Edvaldo Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Chaves having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fausto Mazza was the one to do the kick off. Vicente Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betinho Maciel in the 58th minute of the match. From close distance José Paulo Cavalcante pressed in the 0-3 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 62 minutes into the game. Surara's Emílio Chaves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Surara from getting a goal against them. In the 69th match minute, Xixebal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Vander to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, José Paulo Cavalcante notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Surara's Emílio Chaves. Emílio Chaves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Surara defense, José Paulo Cavalcante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emílio Chaves. The Surara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emílio Chaves should have stopped the shot. Xixebal played a much better game than Surara and deserved their victory. The Surara players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
