In the 11th minute, Baraganca's Basílio de Sena seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Basílio de Sena the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Baraganca protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Basílio de Sena had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 11 minutes into the game, one of Baraganca:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Paes in the 16th minute of play forced Baraganca's goalkeeper Pedro Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Alberto Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Teixeira having to interfere. Jeferson Paes took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Teixeira. Pedro Teixeira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 21 minutes, Clóvis Dracena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cachoeirinha SS and the Baraganca players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Baraganca booed when Cachoeirinha SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th match minute, Baraganca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís Cearense to maneuver through the defense. In the 30thth minute of the game Carlos Alberto Pirani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Baraganca's Pedro Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Cachoeirinha SS's Jeferson Paes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Teixeira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Alberto Pirani in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pedro Teixeira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 35 minutes into the game, Ademar Teles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Baraganca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cachoeirinha SS the free kick. A collision led to Baraganca getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ademar Teles hit a great ball. Albertino Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademar Teles in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Jeferson Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachoeirinha SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeferson Paes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Alberto Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Alberto Pirani could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Pedro Teixeira made a huge save. Carlos Alberto Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Pedro Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Carlos Alberto Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Frederico Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute, Jeferson Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Baraganca's Pedro Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Paes in the 80th minute of play. Pedro Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeferson Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeferson Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Teixeira having to interfere. Jeferson Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertino Maia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ademar Teles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 95 minute of play. Baraganca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
