The referee ignored Grimeia's protests and gave Walmyr Jacinto a yellow card for diving instead. Walmyr Jacinto hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, Grimeia's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Carvalho came free, but Caetano Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gabriel Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Alexandre Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atchetcha's Alexandre Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Passos in the 16th minute of play. Gabriel Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Toledo having to interfere. In the 21st minute of the match Atchetcha got a corner. Grimeia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Francisco Nóbrega ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 24th minute there was a penalty for Grimeia. Simão Passos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alexandre Toledo. 0-1. Alexandre Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 35 minutes of play, Atchetcha's Oséas Peixoto made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Caetano Soeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Simão Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Charles Maia made the kick off in the second half. When Grimeia's Gabriel Garcia in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atchetcha's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atchetcha's zone, Gabriel Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Toledo came out of the goal and Gabriel Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charles Maia scored 2-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Caetano Soeiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Jacinto in the 61st minute of play forced Atchetcha's goalkeeper Alexandre Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Grimeia's Gabriel Garcia in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atchetcha's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Garcia in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Gabriel Garcia scored 2-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexandre Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th match minute, Grimeia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Simão Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 82 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Grimeia's Simão Passos fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Grimeia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
