Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Clemente Hermes started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Varadouro's Luís Eduardo Tepedino got control of the ball when Tiaguinho Lago tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Elias da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cujubina FC's goalkeeper Serginho Sena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elias da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Clemente Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Luís Eduardo Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serginho Sena stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elias da Silva's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Alfredo Xavier hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Doni Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute Doni Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clemente Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Eduardo Tepedino having to interfere. Cujubina FC's Serginho Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias da Silva in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Dorival da Cunha's late challenge caught a Varadouro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorival da Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Varadouro booed when Cujubina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60thth minute of the game Doni Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cujubina FC's Serginho Sena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elias da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Serginho Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amauri Neves's late challenge caught a Varadouro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elias da Silva scored 0-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Serginho Sena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 80th minute, Cláudio Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Doni Freitas took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Serginho Sena to make any attempt to save it. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Varadouro walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
