But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Coelho couldn't finish the play. 7 minutes into the game, Renato Lima recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alberto Sarmento. Renato Lima showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Bombonagem getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Nildo Araújo hit a great ball. In the 19th minute of the match Saturno F.C got a corner. Bombonagem's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alex Moura ran over to the corner to take the kick. Albertinho Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo Barros in the 21st minute of play. Renato Lima was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 25th minute Renato Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albertinho Toledo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from César Coelho went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Alberto Sarmento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmyr do Nascimento in the 43rd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
