Dinei Saldanha was left in no man's land by his defense there! 18 minutes into the match, New monkey's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Eger came free, but Dinei Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 played minutes Maiauata got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo Souza. In the 25th minute of the match Anderson Mineiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dinei Saldanha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind New monkey's goalkeeper Dinei Saldanha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th minute Telmo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, New monkey's goal looked a bit too open when Robinho Toledo came free, but Dinei Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dito Lago made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albertinho Coutinho in the 35th minute. Maiauata's Dito Lago proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Maiauata from getting a goal against them. Cássio Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dito Lago having to interfere. Jerônimo Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Saldanha having to interfere. Jerônimo Souza struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Dinei Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maiauata. Jerônimo Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Dinei Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Cássio Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Jerônimo Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maiauata's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerônimo Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinei Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jerônimo Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Telmo Eger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Dinei Saldanha made a huge save. A collision led to New monkey getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Albertinho Coutinho hit a great ball. New monkey's Dinei Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerônimo Souza in the 80th minute of play. Telmo Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Saldanha having to interfere. If Jerônimo Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Maiauata's Jerônimo Souza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dinei Saldanha. Dinei Saldanha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The New monkey fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Maiauata were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
