Benjamim Nunes charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamim Nunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remo Leão in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Túlio do Nascimento saved Massaranduba EC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Carioca in the 31st minute of play forced Lagao's goalkeeper Conrado Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conrado Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Nunes in the 32nd minute of play. Massaranduba EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Ulysses Moraes scored to the left of an out of position Túlio do Nascimento, making the score, 3-0. Arnaldo Severo's late challenge caught a Lagao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnaldo Severo helped the player get up and apologised. After 41 played minutes Massaranduba EC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Severo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Carioca in the 45th minute of play forced Lagao's goalkeeper Conrado Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marco Carioca to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Remo Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelo Amorim's late challenge caught a Lagao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th match minute, Massaranduba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Amorim to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Massaranduba EC defense, Ulysses Moraes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Túlio do Nascimento. The Massaranduba EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Túlio do Nascimento should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Moraes in the 68th minute of play forced Massaranduba EC's goalkeeper Túlio do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Massaranduba EC! The Lagao fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Lagao's Ulysses Moraes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 78 minutes into the match, Massaranduba EC's goal looked a bit too open when Ulysses Moraes came free, but Túlio do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lagao booed when Massaranduba EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Lagao's Ulysses Moraes in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Conrado Coutinho was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Joel Pires capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joel Pires really showed his touch with that goal: 6-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Moraes in the 93rd minute of play forced Massaranduba EC's goalkeeper Túlio do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remo Leão in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Túlio do Nascimento saved Massaranduba EC from getting behind. In the 100th minute of the match Romeu Mendes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Túlio do Nascimento skillfully saved the ball.
