If Umberto Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, SPARTA F C's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho de Azevedo came free, but Giuseppe de Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Envira SS's Pedrinho de Azevedo in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SPARTA F C's goalie prevented a goal. Giuseppe de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrinho de Azevedo in the 28th minute of play. After 49 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Envira SS! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Envira SS's Donatello Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Bastos in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Envira SS's zone, Waldemar Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donatello Quintal came out of the goal and Waldemar Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donatello Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elano Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Bastos in the 75th minute of play forced Envira SS's goalkeeper Donatello Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho de Azevedo in the 79th minute of play forced SPARTA F C's goalkeeper Giuseppe de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elano Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Donatello Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elano Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Umberto Ceresso came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Envira SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umberto Ceresso couldn't finish the play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
