After having played for 17 minutes, Paulinho Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matapi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gong Di Yuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho Queirós in the 25th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Dedê Trigo rounded Matapi's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Trigo in the 37th minute of play forced Matapi's goalkeeper Aleandro Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugênio Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Gong Di Yuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gong Di Yuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho Queirós in the 40th minute of the match. Abel Duarte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Aleandro Nogueira made a huge save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedê Trigo was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Capeller-FC's Ferdinand Baiano got a free kick in the 61st minute. 64 minutes into the match, Matapi's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Duarte came free, but Aleandro Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matapi's Vitinho Ferraz was substituted for Eugênio Miranda. Gong Di Yuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho Queirós in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Capeller-FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Queirós came free, but Gong Di Yuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Capeller-FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Matapi's performance. The match ended with a win for Matapi.
