Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Benedito da Cunha started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Jangadinha's zone, Benedito da Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Furtado came out of the goal and Benedito da Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredão Siqueira hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute of the match, Zé Roberto Cavalcante got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dorian Silva was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Umberto Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Benedito da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Furtado having to interfere. Umberto Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito da Cunha in the 17th minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Benedito da Cunha in the 19th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Dorian Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito da Cunha in the 24th minute of play forced Jangadinha's goalkeeper Umberto Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Petunia booed when Jangadinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Cavalcante didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 played minutes Jangadinha got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Magalhães. If Benedito da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jangadinha's Umberto Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredão Siqueira in the 38th minute of play. Zé Roberto Cavalcantes short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Dorian Silva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as Jangadinha's Anselmo Paraibano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dorian Silva. That made the score 1-0 after 42 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Anselmo Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmundo Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Dorian Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anselmo Paraibano in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dorian Silva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benedito da Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Umberto Furtado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benedito da Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. Dorian Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Paraibano in the 67th minute of play. Dorian Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Benedito da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petunia's Dorian Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Paraibano in the 79th minute of play. Benedito da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Umberto Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
