Mauro Gamarra hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 5th match minute, Valente SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Gamarra to maneuver through the defense. Marco Neto hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. A collision led to Valente SC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Leal Acedo hit a great ball. Cristiano Mineiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Falcão Loyola in the 15th minute. Tarcisio Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Mineiro having to interfere. Amadeu de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rodolfo Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Fábio Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alan Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Valente SC booed when Povoacoes SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute Eugênio Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Falcão Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Povoacoes SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Falcão Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Mineiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Falcão Loyola might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristiano Mineiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Falcão Loyola ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th match minute, Valente SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Neto to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

With his leg Rodolfo Leal managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Valente SC's Amadeu de Medeiros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Eugênio Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Neto hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Alan Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Mineiro having to interfere. Cristiano Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Povoacoes SS getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme Tróia hit a great ball. Povoacoes SS's Rodolfo Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugênio Meireles in the 93rd minute of play. The Valente SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Valente SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
