The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Severo in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho Marques saved Salgadinha AD from getting behind. Juninho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Felipe Severo succeeded in the game's 9th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. If José Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Severo in the 14th minute of play forced Salgadinha AD's goalkeeper Juninho Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, José Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laranja Mecânica SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juninho Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Severo in the 30th minute of the match. Yuri Quirino kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 45th minute José Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Maia was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Laranja Mecânica SC's zone, Jeremias do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolas de Azevedo came out of the goal and Jeremias do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Maia in the 52nd minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica SC's goalkeeper Nicolas de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th match minute, Laranja Mecânica SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Quirino to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute, Laranja Mecânica SC's José Salgado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juninho Marques. Juninho Marques yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. The supporters of Laranja Mecânica SC booed when Salgadinha AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Felipe Severo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laranja Mecânica SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
