Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Rui Branco started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Rui Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Altlético do Piauí's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Branco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldo Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anísio Mandrak made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Maurinho Gaúcho sent off a good shot on target. Tobiaras SC's Osvaldo Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Branco in the 11th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Tobiaras SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Paulo Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Tobiaras SC's Waldir Pereira got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th match minute, River Altlético do Piauí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Lopez to maneuver through the defense. Tobiaras SC's Osvaldo Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Branco in the 31st minute of play. Rui Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Rodrigues having to interfere. Tobiaras SC's Osvaldo Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Albuquerque in the 39th minute of play. After 43 minutes, José Paulo Carneiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tobiaras SC and the River Altlético do Piauí players grew even worse after the yellow card. José Paulo Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maurinho Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half. Zé Augusto Novaes thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Anísio Mandrak, a very annoying self made goal in the 52nd minute which led to 1-0. Osvaldo Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurinho Gaúcho in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anísio Mandrak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 68 minutes into the game, Tobiaras SC's Maurinho Gaúcho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anísio Mandrak made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 90thth minute of the game Rui Branco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tobiaras SC's Osvaldo Rodrigues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Haroldo Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Altlético do Piauí's protests and gave Haroldo Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tobiaras SC booed when River Altlético do Piauí was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Tobiaras SC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
