After having played for 3 minutes, Reynaldo Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umarizeiras EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Umarizeiras EC's Durvalino de Barros got a free kick in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Umarizeiras EC's goal looked a bit too open when Eugênio Zonta came free, but José Augusto de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Cléberson Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natã Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Acurui's Natã Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléberson Favoretto in the 19th minute of play. Alexsandro Xavier was extremely unlucky when he, in the 28th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Ademar Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natã Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléberson Favoretto in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Cléberson Favoretto made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Umarizeiras EC got a freekick which was hit by Cléberson Favoretto. 54 minutes into the match, Acurui's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson Favoretto came free, but Natã Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute of the match, Cléberson Favoretto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Natã Jacinto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 63 minutes into the game, Sandrinho Neiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Acurui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Umarizeiras EC the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Acurui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Acurui's Eugênio Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Augusto de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexsandro Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 played minutes Acurui got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Tróia. Natã Jacinto acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Laerte Borges. If Eugênio Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Acurui's Cesinha Luz got a free kick in the 91st minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Umarizeiras EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
