Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elias Prata to make the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Arósio couldn't finish the play. 54 minutes into the game, Quincunca AD's Carlos Alberto de Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorival Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The supporters of Miraselva booed when Quincunca AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Horácio Abreu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tião Pena skillfully saved the ball. Carlos Alberto de Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorival Varela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
