In the 2nd match minute, Trela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho Tande to maneuver through the defense. William Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adilson Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Taperuaba's Kléberson Arruda got a free kick in the 5th minute. If Zé Carlos Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 8th minute Zé Carlos Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute Tomé Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Trela's zone, Felippe Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton Reis came out of the goal and Felippe Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Taperuaba's goal looked a bit too open when Tomé Dionísio came free, but William Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Adilson Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aírton Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 27th minute Paulão Moura suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Zé Carlos Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Carlos Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Taperuaba getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Zé Carlos Batista hit a great ball. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Trela's goalkeeper Aírton Reis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kléberson Arruda's late challenge caught a Trela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléberson Arruda helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd minute, Kléberson Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Sabóia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomé Dionísio went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomé Dionísio was the one to do the kick off. Taperuaba's Felippe Xavier got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 54 played minutes Trela got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Tande. After a defensive mix-up in Trela's zone, Zé Carlos Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton Reis came out of the goal and Zé Carlos Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 61 minutes, Tomé Dionísio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Trela and the Taperuaba players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 62 played minutes Trela got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Dionísio. Zé Carlos Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zé Carlos Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Reis having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Trela got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Tande. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Trela's goalkeeper Aírton Reis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felippe Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Reis having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dieguinho Maia during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zé Carlos Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trela's Aírton Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Batista in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felippe Xavier in the 82nd minute of play forced Trela's goalkeeper Aírton Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Afonsinho Tande fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trela's protests and gave Afonsinho Tande a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, Trela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho Tande to maneuver through the defense. The Trela players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Taperuaba from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
