Limoeira SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin Lira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Tinoco in the 28th minute of play forced Limoeira SC's goalkeeper Henrique Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Limoeira SC's Henrique Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério Zonta in the 29th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvério Zonta to make the kick off. Silvério Zonta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Henrique Moreira made a huge save. Silvério Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Henrique Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franklin Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vestea's Tibúrcio Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Barros in the 101st minute of play.
