After having played for 9 minutes, Custódio Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapicuru SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Custódio Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Nil Castel MS defense, Victor Meira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guga Recife. The Nil Castel MS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guga Recife should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the match, Itapicuru SS's goal looked a bit too open when Tião Fantini came free, but Davi Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 20 minutes, Andrézinho Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nil Castel MS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrézinho Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Custódio Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 30th minute, but Davi Teles got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Itapicuru SS hanging dry this time. Custódio Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Meira in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guga Recife prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Victor Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Recife having to interfere. Gilberto Aparecido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tião Fantini in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davi Teles prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The wind increased when Tião Fantini made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Fantini in the 57th minute of play forced Itapicuru SS's goalkeeper Davi Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davi Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião Fantini in the 66th minute of play. Guga Recife made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Meira in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute Itapicuru SS were awarded a corner. Aleandro Bastos went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 75th minute Gilberto Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davi Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Davi Teles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Aparecido's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Guga Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Vargas hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Custódio Travassos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. Itapicuru SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
