Olívio Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião Fantini in the 23rd minute of the match. After 26 played minutes Cuparaque FC got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Mandrak. In the 27th minute, Edmundo Alvarenga sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cuparaque FC's Olívio Macedo didn't even have to move. In the 31st minute Denílson Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Nunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guga Recife having to make a save. If Tião Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes into the match, Gilberto Aparecido had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olívio Macedo. Cuparaque FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilberto Aparecido was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The wind increased when Tião Fantini made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Tião Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nil Castel MS's supporters rose to their feet, but Tião Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olívio Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tião Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Olívio Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nil Castel MS's Gilberto Aparecido got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute of the match Cuparaque FC got a corner. Nil Castel MS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sandro Nunes ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Gino Meira heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The supporters of Cuparaque FC booed when Nil Castel MS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 74 minutes, Enrique Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuparaque FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrique Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Waldemar Mandrak fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuparaque FC's protests and gave Waldemar Mandrak a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Cuparaque FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. Tião Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olívio Macedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilberto Aparecido in the 90th minute.
