Valdomiro Santana came out of the goal and Ulysses Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Kléberson de Amaral, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 21 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Valdomiro Santana was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a little luck, Caitau's Délio Mandrak got control of the ball when Dedê Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Caitau's Nestor Pinho got a free kick in the 29th minute. Gerson da Mata took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Délio Mandrak. Caitau's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Valdomiro Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Pinho in the 35th minute of the match. If Dedê Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Caitau booed when Setembrinha SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Oswaldo Mesquita made the kick off in the second half. With a left leg Délio Mandrak saved Caitau from getting behind. 60 minutes into the match, Setembrinha SC's goalkeeper Valdomiro Santana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulysses Mendonça. In the 65th minute, Rony Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdomiro Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléberson de Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 70 minutes, Rony Favoretto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Setembrinha SC and the Caitau players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Setembrinha SC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Rony Favoretto hit a great ball.
