When Dedê Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Aba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedê Silveira couldn't finish the play. Raí Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrício de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fabrício de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Cariry SC's Fabrício de Lara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Raí Dante. Raí Dante yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Fabrício de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí Dante having to interfere. Jorge Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Mazinho Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cariry SC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Elivélton Toscano hit a great ball. Mazinho Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dedê Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Jorge Pinho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Mazinho Lopes made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Dedê Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Mazinho Lopes came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Aba FC's Dedê Silveira. But to his dismay, Dedê Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Raí Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Raí Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Cavalcante in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Cariry SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Secco to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Pinho in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mazinho Lopes saved Cariry SC from getting behind. Laerte Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raí Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. After 96 minutes, Jonathan Brasil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aba FC and the Cariry SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Aba FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Jonathan Brasil hit a great ball. The Aba FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
