Tião de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermínio Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Tião de Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Dantas in the 14th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Arthur Lira notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Maracachita SC's Tião de Azevedo. Hermínio Catarinense got in the 36th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Tião de Azevedo handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Tião de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Catarinense in the 40th minute of play. Tião de Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Dantas in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Paulo Barral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Trombuca EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Digo Seco in the 54th minute. A nice corner shot did that Digo Seco got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tião de Azevedo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rafael Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião de Azevedo having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Maracachita SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hermínio Catarinense came free, but Tião de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Rafael Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trombuca EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Maracachita SC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Zé Paulo Barral hit a great ball. Zé Paulo Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Dantas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tião de Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Trombuca EC's Hermínio Catarinense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tião de Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Maracachita SC's zone, Rafael Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tião de Azevedo came out of the goal and Rafael Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Arthur Lira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Umberto Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdo Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdo Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th match minute, Maracachita SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdo Brito to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Trombuca EC were the better team. Trombuca EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
