Manoel Marinho started the match with the kick off. Amauri Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Marinho in the 10th minute of the match. Didi Souto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Paulo Hames in the 13th minute. Christian Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Zé Paulo Hames managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guaci AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Paulo Hames was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manoel Marinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amauri Maia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Didi Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Carneiro made a kick off. If Christian Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Carneiro in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Didi Souto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Antônio Reis struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Amauri Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. José Augusto Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Amauri Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. When Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's José Augusto Trancoso, in the 76th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. If José Augusto Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvaldinho Cearense hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Guaci AD's Zé Paulo Hames got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Guaci AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cruzeiro Esporte Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
